Police Department

911

Call 9-1-1 to report crimes in progress, violence, accidents with injuries, fires, medical emergencies, and other emergency situations.

Text to 9-1-1

Residents and visitors who have text messaging and/or data plans from their carrier can text 9-1-1 in an emergency. Text-to-911 is supported by AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon.

Text-to-911 is intended for use in three scenarios:

  1. For individuals who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, or have a speech disability

  2. For someone who is in a situation where it is unsafe to place a voice call to 911

  3. For an individual who is experiencing a medical emergency and may be unable to speak

Non-Emergency Police Dispatch: 301-352-1200

A non-emergency dispatch request will result in the response of Prince George’s County Police, Fire/EMS, or Sheriff personnel to the scene of an actively or recently occurring public safety incident that does not immediately threaten life, safety, or property.

On-line Non-Emergency Dispatch Reporting

Submit an on-line dispatch request for non-emergency situations including: noise disturbance, suspicious person, traffic hazard, vandalism, theft (or attempt), etc.

The Department of the Environment (DoE)

DoE works for a healthy, beautiful, and sustainable County through programs that provide clean water, flood control, recycling, and waste management, litter prevention, animal services, and pet adoption in partnership with residents and other stakeholders.

Low-Cost Pet Vaccinations

The Humane Society of Prince George's County (PGSPCA) hosts low-cost vaccine clinics for pets to combat rabies, distemper, and the parvovirus. Walk-in on the first Sunday of the month, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. No appointment is needed. The PGSPCA clinic is located at 8210 D'arcy Road in Forestville, Maryland.

PLEASE BRING A CREDIT/DEBIT CARD OR CASH (NO CHECKS)

Microchips: $30 Per Chip

Rabies And Distemper (DHPP/FVRCP): $15 Per Shot

All dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in a secure carrier. Please do not allow children to try to hold or control your pets. We require that all clients wear a mask.  

If you will be requesting a rabies shot for your pet, and you have proof of prior rabies vaccination, be sure to bring the paperwork documenting that earlier shot for a vaccination good for 3 years. Otherwise, this shot will be valid for one year.

Distemper for Dogs includes: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus Type 2), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus 

Distemper for Cats includes: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia

Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Guide - This guide is to assist in the reduction of household hazardous waste materials and electronic equipment through proper disposal, recycling and source reduction initiatives.
